Are you a professional wanting to refer a family?

If you are a health visitor, family support worker, social prescriber or any other professional working with families and you feel someone would benefit from our service, you can make a referral on their behalf, with their consent as long as there is one child under 5 in the family and/or mum is pregnant. If you need to clarify that a family meets our criteria please call us on 07771 179007.

“Home-Start came as a blessing into my life. I must admit I was skeptical at the beginning as I was scared someone will see how fragile I was but I decided to give it a chance. And it worked! With Jane’s support, I felt more and more secure, stronger and from day to day, I began to smile again. Shame and helplessness disappeared when Jane looked at me with encouragement and hope. And so, Jane became part of my family. The days she calls me are a blessing to me, fresh air to me, and my pain.”

Are you a parent in need of support?

If you would like a home-visiting volunteer to give you some support  you can self-refer to us – you don’t need to go through a statutory agency, health visitor or other medical professional to do this.  You can use the self-referral form here or if you prefer please call the office on 07771 179007 and we will go through it with you. We are here for you.

If you would like to attend one of our support groups please visit the groups page and use the groups referral form

Waiting Lists

We do not operate a waiting list: family support is governed by the availability and suitability of volunteers or group space.  Referrals are held for 8 weeks and if we cannot match a family with a suitable volunteer or group during this time we will be in touch to let you know or offer alternative suggestions.
