Our latest volunteer training session was all about Makaton – the language programme that uses symbols, signs and speech to enable people to communicate who might otherwise find it difficult. Makaton tutor Ali Pennington gave us a fascinating introduction and taught us a number of signs that volunteers might find helpful to use with their families – we just need to keep practising now!
