Home-Start North Somerset provides support and friendship for families with young children who are going through tough times. We are currently seeking a Volunteer Coordinator – Family Support to join our small team on a 3-month contract, to help us provide our home-visiting service. This service matches trained volunteers to families to provide practical and emotional support. The role is based at our Weston-super-Mare office with travel throughout North Somerset. We’re looking for someone with relevant experience who can hit the ground running on this short term contract. Immediate start available.

Contract: 3 month contract
Location: Based at the Weston-super-Mare office with travel throughout North Somerset.
Salary range: Starting salary SCP scale 8 £25,992 pro rata
Hours of work: 15-24 hours per week to be negotiated
The Volunteer Coordinator will work closely with our team of volunteers, providing support, supervision and delivering training to ensure they are able to offer effective support to families. They will build strong relationships with our families, working with them to identify their needs, match them to a volunteer and review progress. They will liaise with professionals from other services to ensure a coordinated response.
Essential requirements include:
- Experience of working with young children and families
- Experience of working with and training volunteers
- Knowledge and understanding of safeguarding issues.
