We are delighted to announce that Kate Milton has joined the Board of Trustees as our new Chair. Kate has over 30 years’ experience as a senior manager in HR, Equality and Human Rights, and Staff Experience, predominantly in the public sector, including 24 years in the NHS. In 2023 Kate took early retirement following a reorganisation and has become a freelance coach and HR consultant. She felt that she wanted to use her skills to support her local community and was delighted that the role of Chair at Home-Start has given her the opportunity to do so. Kate has been married to Andrew for more than 30 years and they have two grown up children and a Westie.
Kate takes over the reins from Dali Sidebottom who has stepped down as Chair after a number of years in the post. Dali said: “I have really enjoyed my years of being Chair of Home-Start. There have been many of changes and challenges along the way but we have continued to provide a highly effective and much valued service to families in North Somerset due to the sterling efforts of our staff, volunteers and trustees. I look forward to working with Kate, our new chair to support the future development of the service and wish her the very best.” Dali continues to serve as a trustee and has joined our operations sub-committee. All of us at Home-Start extend our warmest thanks to Dali for all of the time she has dedicated to the role, her energetic, hands-on approach and her tireless support of fundraising events and activities.
